— Moiz Sial

Dear Delegates,

On behalf of the Multan Model United Nations Association- MMUNA, I, Moiz Sial am immensely gratified to welcome you all to the Second annual session of Multan Open Model United Nations in 2017 in the “City of Saints” Multan, Pakistan.

The Association aims to make the 2nd edition of Multan Open Model United Nations one of the most competitive MUN conferences, with 5 interesting committees and Committee Directors shortlisted from the country’s best. The plentitude of topics will definitely ensure an in-depth and thought-provoking discussion and experience for all participating delegates.  During the conference, students learn the importance of balancing national interests with the needs of the international community, while also learning about the powers and limitations of international negotiation. Delegates will preserve their countries’ national policy while negotiating in the face of other, sometimes conflicting, international policies.

Multan Open Model United Nations is an exciting opportunity for students to debate issues that confront world leaders and to draft resolutions in response to these global issues. Participants will develop their abilities to work with others who are equally motivated and passionate about the topics of debate and to respond to global concerns.

Multan Open MUN is driven by an educational mission that intends to shed light on the importance of collaboration, the art of diplomacy and the value of key skills such as research, public speaking, debate and negotiation. Above all, we hope that the lessons learned from MOMUN will inspire and empower delegates to form a voice beyond the committee room. We hope this experience will challenge students to think critically about policy and to drive change in their own communities. On that note I welcome you to MOMUN’17. My sanguinity allows me to concede that you will make most of this opportunity and groom yourselves to become leaders of tomorrow.

I would like to extend my warm invitation for you to join us this summer. If you have any queries or inquiries, please feel free to contact me or the Secretary General, the Committee Directors or any of the Directors should you need any help along the way. On behalf of the entire Secretariat and Directorate, I look forward to making your experience here at MOMUN a memorable one.

Yours sincerely,

Moiz Sial,

Secretary General

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen,

As the Page Lucidly indicates, my name is Awais Zafar and I’ll be serving as the Secretary General of the Second Edition of MULTAN OPEN MUN conference. It is a pleasure to welcome you all to this esteemed platform where you shall all be given the experience of true diplomacy. It has been two and a half year since I spoke at my first Model UN conference and the only thing I remember is that it wasn’t easy. Then again, how could it have been? I was a young and naïve boy who had entered the gates of City School Lahore, setting sail on a journey that began with debating sessions, all-nighters and draft resolutions but which ultimately culminated in lifelong friendships, exciting stories and the most enriching experience of my life. Since then, it has been an amazing journey and if it were not for those sessions held by Haider Ali Sukhera, I might have not gone to any other MUN.

So a little about myself, I’m currently in my first year of A levels at Beaconhouse Multan. I believe the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.

At MOMUN our educational mission extends beyond the committee room. Through opportunities like Global Village, Young Leaders Conference, Secretariat Panels we hope to foster cultural exchange and cultivate a conference-wide community. Furthermore, the MOMUN experience is set in the historically significant city of Saints, Multan, which we encourage all delegates to explore.

Apart from MUNs I’m the President Youth General Assembly (YGA) Multan, Script Writer and Screenplay Director at SHOR Films and CEO Multan MUNning School so yeah ladies and gentlemen rest assured that you are in safe Hands.

Nothing excuses lack of participation, but if you want to increase your chances, be the one we’ll remember a year from now. Indeed all work with no play is something that we all want to avoid. So research thoroughly, and come to the conference knowing you’re in it to win it, or at least for the learning experience. The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.

So Munnions do not miss this Sensational Opportunity of evolving yourselves from Saints to Statesmen. Multan Open MUN is an exciting educational opportunity, and I sincerely hope that you will choose to take part in it.

Hoping to see you all soon this summer!

Kind Regards,

Awais Zafar

Secretary General

Multan Open MUN 2016.
